The pump gear housing (also known as the gear section casing or body) is the central structural block of an external hydraulic gear pump. It wraps directly around the rotating drive and driven gear assemblies. Within the Parker PGP030/031 series, this components serves critical performance roles:

• High-Pressure Containment: It directly confines the hydraulic oil as it is forced from the low-pressure suction inlet around the gear teeth to the high-pressure outlet port (withstanding continuous loads exceeding 3,000 PSI / 207 bar).
• Volumetric Trapping Maintenance: Precision-machined internal “bore cavities” must maintain micro-clearance tolerances against the gear tips. This minimizes fluid back-slippage, guaranteeing optimal hydraulic flow rates even at peak thermal working cycles.
• Rigid Internal Alignment: It serves as the mechanical anchor connecting the front mounting flange with the rear port end covers, absorbing heavy shock vectors and preventing body distortion.

• Internal Bore Precision: Cavity walls are bored on advanced CNC vertical machining centers to precise tolerances. This ensures a uniform micro-gap between the gear teeth tips and the casing to prevent localized friction scoring or pressure loss.
• Surface Face Planarity: The front and rear joining faces are finely ground to ensure a completely flat sealing surface when compressed against internal thrust plates and backing channel seals.
